April 18, 2009–Today’s Way: If you live in a higher density area with stores and services nearby, try walking to them more often.  Jumping into the car just to drive a few blocks to the party store uses a surprising amount of fuel and contributes to carbon emissions, and generally doesn’t take significantly more time from your day than hoofing it.  You’ll save yourself some money on gas, you’ll be keeping the air cleaner, and at the same time, you’ll be getting exercise and maybe even have a chance to wave to your neighbors, too.
